For this campaign, I worked closely with our Japanese market manager to localise global banner ads, redesigning them to better reflect Japanese visual preferences and aesthetics.
I researched Japanese advertising and digital design, then applied specific techniques to align with local expectations: introducing more variation in text size and style, increasing the overall amount of text, tightening spacing between elements, and placing content closer to the frame edges. All a significant departure from typical European layouts.
Results: These design changes led to a 16% increase in conversions.
